White Dresses prides itself on making a bride feel special every time she enters our store. In order to make sure that your experience with us is smooth, we have formulated some shopping tips for you to consider before deciding if our shop is the perfect fit for your needs. Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact the location you are interested in visiting by phone.
Shop Early
When a bride selects a wedding gown from White Dresses, we partner with the designer of the wedding gown selected to help create a custom gown for the bride. Since many of the designers sold at White Dresses are couture designers that work with small production teams supervised by the designer themselves or their production manager, most wedding gowns take around four to six months to arrive to our shop. In order to accommodate for alterations that might need to be made when your gown arrives, we suggest ordering your wedding gown nine to twelve months before your wedding. If you are working on a shorter timeline, there is an option to expedite your wedding dress for a small rush fee.
Choose the Perfect Boutique
Our suggestion is to limit the boutiques you visit to one to two bridal shops that match your style and price point. To assist you with determining if we are the right boutique for you, please contact us by phone to discuss the types of gowns you are hoping to try on. Our Nashville Bridal Boutique can accommodate budgets of $2,500 and up. We do offer some off-the-rack options at our sample sales to accommodate smaller budgets.
Schedule an Appointment
Shopping for your wedding gown is such a special time to share with your closest friends and family and the best way to ensure that your time with us will be perfect is by scheduling an appointment. Brides who schedule an appointment will have a designated bridal consultant to assist them in trying on wedding gowns and will have our full attention for an hour and a half to help answer any questions you might have about customizations. While we will make every effort to accommodate walk-ins, our boutique is very small and we cannot promise to be able to assist you when you arrive unless you have an appointment scheduled.
Set a Budget
Knowing how much you want to spend on your gown is important to ensure that you don’t fall in love with a gown that doesn’t work with your wedding budget. Please keep in mind when providing us a budget that you need to specify whether that budget is all-inclusive (including accessories) or is just for the gown.
Who to Invite
All of our locations strive to provide you with an intimate dress shopping experience and we want you and your guests to be as comfortable as possible while you try on wedding dresses. Both of our boutiques comfortably seat four guests, but we can make additional seating arrangements if we can plan your appointment at times that are not as busy in our shop. No matter the number you decide to bring, make sure your guests are the people in your life who are supportive and have your best interest at heart!
Bring Your Foundations
Since you will have a White Dresses team member assisting you in trying on gowns, we suggest wearing full coverage underwear and a strapless bra. Please be aware that brides who do not wear underwear to their appointment will not be allowed to try on gowns due to health reasons.
Arriving at Your Appointment
Please arrive at your appointment at your scheduled time. Since we want to make each bride’s shopping experience wonderful, we ask that you do not arrive early. Early arrivals interrupt the flow of our appointments and we want each bride to have the full hour and a half time slot to look at wedding dresses!
The Perfect Fit
Once you have selected a gown from White Dresses, one of our trained experts will measure you for your gown. Our measuring process depends on the wedding gown you have selected, but normally will take around fifteen to twenty minutes. When your wedding gown arrives, there might be a few nips and tucks needed to make it perfect. Our Nashville Bridal Shop does not offer in-house alterations, but does have a very talented group of seamstresses within the Nashville area to assist you with having your wedding dress altered.
Special Events
Our location periodically offers trunk shows and sample sales. Trunk shows are events where a specific designer brings additional wedding gowns they offer to our boutique for brides to see. A trunk show will normally feature the newest collection (which wouldn’t be in store yet) or a “Best Of” Collection (which would feature the designer’s most popular gowns). These events normally include a purchase incentive – such as a discount on the gown or a free accessory with purchase. Sample sales are events where we move out our inventory of sample gowns at discounted rates. We normally host sample sales at our locations twice annually. For information about upcoming events, please check out our Blog and Social Media pages.
